Xinyan XU is a visual artist and spatial designer based in Ningbo and Shanghai. Her artistic focus is on supermodernity, contemporary culture, and metropolitan experiences. She uses spaces, places, and computational techniques to create visuals, spatial experiences, soundwalks, and art installations.

THE WALKS SW16-PLOT
Now a parking lot, the demolished neighborhood left behind a single witness: a power distribution house — half relic, half ghost. Soundwalk 16 takes this structure as compass and anchor, mapping a neighborhood that lingers only as echoes in memory.

THE WALKS
Use audio and walking as an invitation for listeners to rediscover, interact with, and forge a personal connection with the urban environment. The Walks are a series of soundwalks, 60, 16, and 06 minutes long, focusing on audio experiences in non-places.
‘遛弯儿’邀请听众在声音的指引下重新体验现代城市，尝试在快速，零交流，匿名的城市公共空间进行互动，并产生连接。这一系列的声音漫步分别持续60分钟、16分钟和6分钟。

Converting computers into my homerooms, the desktop-based live performance explores digital consumption and adaptation in the modern digitalized world, as well as the complexities and simplicities of living an increasingly online lifestyle.

ON THE GROUND OF BERLIN
Connecting with the city of Berlin by collecting soil from various locations across the city over two weeks and symbolizing soil consumption—internally through tea ceremonies and externally through wearable tie-dye.
